Maureen Gonzalez
Religious Coordinator
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Maureen has enjoyed a lasting relationship with Catholic schools. She attended Cathedral Chapel School, Immaculate Heart High School, and Loyola Marymount University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. Maureen returned to the Loyola Marymount School of Education to work towards a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and graduated with a Master of Arts in Elementary Education. While attending graduate school, Maureen worked full time as a kindergarten teacher at St. Anastasia Catholic School in Westchester. After 11 years at St. Anastasia, Maureen “retired” from teaching when it was time for her own children to begin their preschool journey.
Maureen’s relationship with St. Brendan School began when the older of her two sons entered kindergarten. She has served on the St. Brendan School Parent Teacher Board and School Board. She is happy to be a part of the faculty and staff as the Religious Coordinator. Maureen believes that the many years spent in Catholic school learning about and celebrating her faith gave her the foundation to navigate life’s ups and downs and follow the Golden Rule with others. She is grateful for the opportunity to share her love of the Catholic faith with students and be a part of their faith formation at St. Brendan School.
In her free time, Maureen enjoys reading, watching Bravo TV, and tries to spend as much time as possible at the beach or the desert, her two “happy places.”
